Salient Achievements/ Technology Development

The AICRP on Sugarcane is mandated to evolve high yielding and high sugar varieties in different maturity groups for different sugarcane growing zones. The Production technologies were developed to harness the maximum achievable yield from the improved varieties under prevailing environmental conditions. The protection technologies were also developed to sustain maximum achievable yield from the improved varieties. Thus, research work was taken up in three disciplines Crop Improvement, Crop Production and Crop Protection (Plant Pathology & Entomology). The salient achievements have been grouped under 3 sub-heads as summarized below–
