Live telecast program of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi

Hon'ble Dr. Pemmasani, Chandrashekhar Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communication, Government of India presided over the live telecast program organized on the occasion of release of 17th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi on 18/06/2024 at ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow. Dr. U. S. Gautam, DDG (Agriculture Extension), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi and Smt. Deeparanjan, Director, Rural Livelihood Mission, Gov. of UP were also present. On this occasion, Dr. R. Viswanathan, Director of the Institute, welcomed the guests by presenting mementos, anga vastra and bouquets. The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp and ICAR song. The Director highlighted various aspects while briefing about the activities of Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani informed that the Government of India had launched the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme in 2019 for the planned development of farmers. Under this scheme, more than 11 crore farmers have been paid more than Rs. 3.04 lakh crore so far. And today certificates will be distributed to 30000 FPO / SHG farmer groups by the Hon'ble Prime Minister.

The Hon'ble Minister also highlighted the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, digitalization of Krishi Mandis as well as schemes for women empowerment and others. The Hon'ble Minister and other dignitaries released the latest issue of “Ikshu” Hindi Magazine and distributed certificates to the Krishi Sakhis. The DDG informed that about 2 crore farmers / Kisan Didi have joined the programme through 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and FPOs. Also, about 49 per cent of girl students are pursuing agricultural education in universities. Talking about entrepreneurship, the Deputy Director General said that in order to double the income of farmers, training is being given on drone technology along with other aspects of agriculture, so that the people of the village can become self-reliant. More than 450 farmers / Lakhpati Didi and 55 scientific / technical staff participated in the programme. Krishi Sakhi Smt. Rajkumari Maurya said that after getting training from Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow, today she is doing modern farming and is working to make farmers aware of organic farming by running Kisan Pathshala. At the end of the program, Dr. V. P. Singh, Nodal Officer of the program and Head of the Department of Crop Production proposed vote of thanks.
