Extension and Training

Increasing total factor productivity in sugarcane sector through Agricultural R & D, Transfer of Technology/ Extension Services and capacity building of stakeholder groups are major focus in the present fast changing scenario of agriculture and sugarcane sector in the country. Technology dissemination and capacity building of human resources involved in the technology adoption process than technology generation provide us a promising scope to enhance farmers’ income. With this background researches in emerging areas of technology transfer approaches, outreach activities and capacity building programme are being implemented in the Institute since beginning.

Mission/objectives

  • To mobilize and organize farming community for large scale adoption of latest cane production technology.
  • Evolve entrepreneurship model in sugarcane production system to enhance farmers’ income.
  • Transferring cane technology in multiple directions for sustainable sugarcane production, transformation, and marketing.
