Programme on Animal Fertility Camp Organized

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow organized an Animal Fertility Camp at Ismailnagar, Nagram, Lucknow on February 18, 2020 which was attended by 365 dairy farmers and 260 animals of nearby villages for doubling the farmers’ income by increasing the productivity of dairy animals. On this occasion, Shri Umesh Singh Tomer, Chairman, Lucknow Milk Union, Lucknow Division was the Chief Guest of the programme, while Dr. A.D. Pathak, Director, ICAR-IISR, Lucknow presided the function. Total 260 livestock were medically tested for infertility and 100 kg mineral mixture, 2000 deworming tablets and medicine of ticks were distributed free of cost to the dairy owners. Dr. R.K. Singh, SMS (Animal Science) delivered a lecture on control of infertility in dairy animals and advised for balanced ration, deworming each animal at four months interval and advised farmers for green fodder/perennial fodder grasses production round the year. Three best cows and buffaloes were selected and their owners were awarded by Dr. A.D. Pathak, Director. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. A.K. Dubey, Head, KVK, ICAR-IISR, Lucknow.
