Zonal Breeders & Plant Pathologists Meet of AICRP(S)

The Zonal Breeders & Plant Pathologists Meet of All India Coordinated Research Project on Sugarcane was organised through virtual mode on January 25, 2021. The objective of the Meet was screening of promising clones under Initial Varietal Trials of the North-West, North-Central North-East and East Coast Zones to advance them for further assessment under Advance Varietal Trial. The meet was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr T R Sharma, Dy. Director General (Crop Sciences), Dr R K Singh, ADG (CC) was the Chairman of the session while Dr A D Pathak, Director & Project Coordinator (S), ICAR-IISR, Lucknow and Dr Bakshi Ram, Director, ICAR-SBI, Coimbatore, were Co-Chairman. There were about 60 participants including Breeders, Plant Pathologists and Entomologists. During his inaugural address, the Chief Guest complemented for the concerted efforts which reflected in terms of record sugar production (33 mt) in the country. The recommendations of the meet have been noted for taking actions.
