Chief Secretary, UP visited ICAR-IISR and KVK, ucknow
Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh, Sh. Durga Shankar Mishra, visited ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research and its Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lucknow. He was accompanied by Sh. Devesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. Appreciating the efforts of IISR in research and on and off-campus training imparted to the farmers, Shri Mishra suggested that all the training programmes should be conducted in hybrid mode so that the farmers residing at distant places can also attend the training in virtual mode and accrue the benefits of training by increasing their farm income. He advised the Scientists to disseminate success stories of the progressive farmers through Facebook, WhatsApp and YouTube etc. Shri Mishra advised the Scientists of the Institute to make videos of various technologies and upload the same on YouTube for dissemination among the masses. Shri Mishra visited Farm Machinery Bank, Nursery raising Unit, Vermicompost, Dairy Unit, Vegetables Demonstration Unit, Nutrition Garden, Roof Top Gardening, Bee keeping Unit, mushroom production Unit and exhibition. He also visited the sites of Integrated Farming System Trial and Jaggery Unit of the Institute. He appreciated the work done at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. At the outset, Dr. A.D. Pathak, Director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow welcomed the Guests and narrated about the R & D achievements of the Institute. Dr. A.K. Dubey, Head, KVK, IISR, Lucknow and all the Subject Matter Specialists showed the various technologies at KVK to the visitors. Sh. Ashwini Kumar Pandey, Chief Development Officer, Lucknow; Dr. Vivek Singh, Director Agriculture, UP; Dy. Director (Agriculture), Dy. Director (Plant Protection), Dy. Director (Ag. Extension), District Agriculture Officer and other Senior Officers of U.P. Government and IISR, Lucknow were also present on this occasion.
